According to the Vietnamese customs data, Switch 2 adopted the Asahi Kasei (旭化成) AK09919C magnetometer, a 3-axis compass, in its controllers. Coupled with gyroscope and accelerometer, Joy-Con 2 and Pro Controller 2 are capable of 9-axis motion sensing, beyond Switch 1’s 6-axis capability. Although Nintendo doesn’t mention it in PR or Welcome Tour, the GVG video below demonstrates its accuracy:
