When the talk of a “Switch 2 OLED” prototype began a few days ago, I didn’t want to comment. The seller of these parts has now removed the word “OLED” from their listings. It seems clear from the start that the seller likely copied the text from another listing and simply added “2” to the title.
Prototype parts like these are unlikely to be smuggled from the secured R&D labs, but often leaked from waste management companies contracted to destroy and dispose them. There are legends of Nintendo prototypes found in as far as Africa, which sadly has been the world’s dumping ground for electronic wastes.
Sellers of these disposed parts may not know what they are exactly, therefore the item descriptions cannot be trusted. As for the white and silver Switch 2 colors seen in the photos, it corroborates a factory uncle’s claim of testing multiple colors in early 2023.
