Nash Weedle continues to misrepresent patent content as “leaks”. This “leak” about Missions and Rewards was extracted from this Nintendo Switch Online patent published on Sep 4. I clipped the passages where NWeedle got his predictions from the patent. See images below and compare them to the tweet above.
His only prediction diverged from the patent is the automatic redeeming of rewards. The patent specifically stated that it’s a problem with prior art to be solved by this invention (image below). Looks like NWeedle, or the AI tool used, misunderstood that part.
[Sidebar] The Missions & Rewards patent did mention “wallpaper that can be set on the home screen” as a reward. I think that it’s only an example for patent purposes. But if it gives some people hope for additional system themes, sure why not.
