There are unconfirmed rumors that 16GB and 32GB Game Cards are now offered to publishers. If true, it validates what Macronix (旺宏) reportedly stated in August:
Macronix disclosed that […] going forward, it will manufacture Game Cards using either in-house MLC NAND or procured 3D NAND, according to varying capacity needs.
The production timeline of these new cards is also unconfirmed, but the financial reports from MegaChips (メガチップス) and Macronix suggest that their ROM related revenues are expected to rebound either from this quarter or next year.
