Universo Nintendo reported that all Nintendo-published digital games in Brazil received a price drop today (img 1). I spot checked a few games on Deku Deals, and saw similar reductions in Mexico (img 2) and Chile (img 3).
After looking up some NS2 physical titles on Amazon BR and MX, I found no price change—unlike the download version. This hopefully settles the debate on digital 📉 vs. physical 📈.
It’s surprising that Nintendo also applies the digital price cut to existing games in LATAM, not just new releases. I doubt that the same would happen in NA, because US retail giants such as Walmart and Amazon are too powerful, and class actions too common (some who paid the old prices are bound to sue for refunds).
