One of the unique Switch 2 features is the usage of player camera input in GameChat and even inside the game. However, when the resolution of system-generated image mask is lower than the image itself, the face cutout may appear jagged (img A). The game, however, can detect this and perform smoothing to suppress artifacts (img B).

The smoothing technique mentioned in the patent is edge-blending, but it’s a non-limiting example. I’m guessing this is available to be used in any games via the SDK, but the patent doesn’t specify. Note that the smoothing effect isn’t applied by GameChat, due to the latter’s limited resource.
