I’d been planning to post about this for while, finally got the suitable screenshots: How did Nintendo manage to fit the larger Switch 2 in a box smaller than the OLED’s? By placing the Joy-Cons and Grip at an angle, obvs.
Last year when the customs data revealed the dimensions of Switch 2 console and accessories, many people (me included) tried fitting them in the also-leaked package size—AFAIK none succeeded. The brilliant design is likely a collaboration between Nintendo and Watada Printing (和多田印刷). Hats off to the designers.
P.S.: The images (excluding the red markers) were taken from the following YouTube video, in which two product designers unboxed Switch 2 and gave live commentary. They obviously know their stuff, and it’s a good watch.
