I’d been planning to post about this for while, finally got the suitable screenshots: How did Nintendo manage to fit the larger Switch 2 in a box smaller than the OLED’s? By placing the Joy-Cons and Grip at an angle, obvs.
Last year when the customs data revealed the dimensions of NS2 console and accessories, many people (me included) tried fitting them in the also-leaked package size—AFAIK none succeeded. The brilliant design is likely a collaboration between Nintendo and Watada Printing (和多田印刷). Hats off to the designers.
P.S.: The images (excluding red markers) were taken from the following YouTube video, in which two product designers unboxed Switch 2 and gave live commentary. They obviously know their stuff, and it’s a good watch.
