As I shared last July, HD Rumble 2 may weaken or disable vibration when the motor overheats or battery is low. A more recent patent added a not-yet-implemented UI element:
- Display “rumble disabled” notification
- Identify the controller
- Explain why (temperature/battery level)
The notification is only shown the first time when a vibration is restricted, and doesn’t repeat. After the rumble is restored, if the restriction is triggered again, a notification will appear once more.
