miHoYo (米哈游) Legal announced that in 2025 they initiated or assisted in:
- 22 criminal cases
- 21 administrative enforcements
- Civil cases involving 2388 individuals, 5.3M+ USD settlements, and 1240 public apologies
I also mentioned this last year: Capcom issued 6176 takedowns in FY2025-03 alone. IP protection measures like the above are common for any major IP holders. Only Nintendo’s actions regularly made the news, because it suits certain media narrative and some audience’s preconceived notion.
