The latest Counterpoint Research report indicates that the prices of NAND flash (the type of memory used in Switch systems) grew 55% in just one quarter (Apr-Jun). One glimmer of hope is that China’s YMTC is ramping up its NAND production (see its expanding market share in the chart below), but the US government—with bipartisan support—is threatening to ban companies from using it.
